Interactive Public Art Projects

MONSTER BOLLARDS, 2020. Installed at Courthouse Square, downtown Santa Rosa, this project was designed to enliven the area during the COVID-19 pandemic while people were socially distanced.

SELF(IE) REFLECTION, 2020. Five giant mirrored 'cell phones' were placed along 4th Street in downtown Santa Rosa, each with a prompt to encourage self reflection during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SWEET HOME SONOMA, 2018. This project recognized the first anniversary of the devastating Sonoma Complex Fire. Participants painted a birdhouse, wrote their experience of the fire, rolled it up and placed it in the birdhouse. The birdhouses were displayed for the community during the anniversary, then distributed during a celebration of resilience. Community members chose a birdhouse to keep, along with the written experience it contained -- a token of the shared trauma that affected each of us in a unique way.

LOVE LETTER ART WALK, 2017. Designed to activate the Highway 12 corridor in the Springs area of Sonoma Valley, this project consisted of a series of stations. As participants progressed, they used different art techniques to create a card, decorate an envelope, and write a sentiment. At the last station the finished cards were dropped into boxes, and participants celebrated with free ice cream.

HOT SPRINGS HOP, 2015. Created to encourage physical activity of children, this project consists of a stenciled pattern of squares, circles and triangles. Children choose how to interact with the sidewalk design, jumping from shape to shape.
